The Tri-State Rodeo Operating Committee is pleased to welcome the CINCH Shoot-Out to the 2015 event.  The CINCH Shoot-Out will take place on Wednesday, September 9th at the C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena as part of the Tri-State Rodeo.

The CINCH Shoot-Out is a one-day event with an invitational format.  Each of the seven events: bareback riding; saddle bronc riding; bull riding; barrel racing; team roping; tie-down roping and steer wrestling  will have seven contestants invited per event, including the top cowboys in the world standings.  The long round will have all seven contestants compete in their respective event, and the top three scores for rough stock or the top three quickest times will advance to the shoot-out round.  Those top-contestants will have the opportunity to pick their stock or out position (order). The contestant with the highest score or fastest time in the long round is given first pick, so they can choose whichever animal or out position best suits them or challenges the rest of the field to their advantage.  Each rough stock contestant is interviewed by Boyd Polhamus, the voice of the Tri-State Rodeo, in this process, so an explanation is given to the crowd.  These top contestants then compete in the shoot-out round, and the champion is determined in a clean-slate fashion with the highest score or fastest time winning the prize money. Over $80,500 in prize money will be awarded.

The CINCH Shoot-Out will bring elite athletes, including many World Champions, to the Tri-State Rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa.  The Tri-State Rodeo is one of only eight venues to host the CINCH Shoot-Out. This event is sponsored by CINCH Jeans.

“We are very excited and honored to be chosen to be a venue for the CINCH Shoot-Out We join the ranks of some of the biggest and best Rodeos in the country to host this competition. It will bring a whole new level of competition and excitement to our event,” commented General Chair, Bob Huffman.

The Tri-State Rodeo is a four day rodeo event running September 9th-12th at the C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena.  Thursday through Saturday will feature PRCA Rodeo action followed by up and coming, country singer Chase Rice on Friday night and award winning country star, Brett Eldredge on Saturday night.  Tickets for all four nights are available online at or by calling the ticket office at 319-372-2550.
